Class Assembly on World Religions: Festivals and Celebrations

(0)
This resource is a script with directions, an information letter for parents as well as a powerpoint for a class to put on a super assembly based on the common world religions festivals and celebrations. It covers Eid, Diwali, Hanukkah and Christmas. If you have a range of religions represented in your school, that is ideal, however, it would also be appropriate for smaller schools who perhaps have less diversity, as the script is easily adaptable. This is well received by parents, pupils and the school community as it is a super way to celebrate several religious festivals at once. This could be done at this time of year as a stand alone assembly, or can be undertaken at the end of the accompanying RME planner on World Religions which in turn goes with the Solar System topic planner. I have also uploaded song words and backing tracks to support this assembly - all of these other resources will be available as a bundle.

This planning and assessment resource is designed to go alongside the resources for an Assembly on World Religions Festivals and Celebrations, as well as complementing the topic of Space and the Solar System. The resource also includes a short assessment to be completed following the end of the initial focus which is creation stories. This will be bundled with the assembly resources to be a comprehensive set of resources for you to use at this time of year.

The Water Cycle Topic Planner

This cross curricular topic planner details the curricular outcomes (ACfE) being targeted as well as lesson ideas and suggestions for each relevant curricular area. This planner is aimed at 2nd Level/KS2 pupils. It also links to the separate topic of Endangered Species (also available via my shop) and ties the two in together. There are accompanying worksheets on for sale separately to go alongside both topics also. These will all be on sale soon as a bundle. However, both topics would be appropriate as stand alone if desired.

This new and improved, original nativity has been written with ages 5 upwards in mind for performances. Lots of fun parts for pupils with plenty of comedy as well as the enduring message of Christmas, with opportunities for whole cast numbers as well. The songs included are all popular Christmas carols and songs, all of which are in the public domain. Song words (some adapted to suit the script) and backing tracks are included. This work is fully copyrighted. Purchase allows the buyer the right to use the script for performance purposes in their own school, as many times as they wish. No limit of number of performances, advertising or repetition in future years, but may not be shared out with their own premises. Please note that some preview pages are included in the images.
